Michelberger Booze
MXPSM in Berlin Wedding builds on 150 years of experience and recipes. It is based in the building of the former liqueur factory of the Experimental and Teaching Institute for Spirits Fabrication and Fermentation Technology (VLSF). The VLSF was founded in 1874 as an experimental station for distillery science. The first scientific director was Professor Dr. Max Delbrück.
In 2002, Gerald Schroff and Professor Dr. Ulf Stahl joined forces to revive the liqueur factory. In the newly established Preussische Spirituosen Manufaktur, they produced spirits of the highest quality and old knowledge using documented procedures and recipes.
To achieve this, they utilized the unique collection of historical and modern distillation apparatuses.
In 2012, Stahl and Schroff, together with Nadine and Tom Michelberger (Michelberger Hotel, Restaurant & Farm), founded a company to develop new recipes and beverages. Over the years, a friendship developed based on a shared appreciation for handcrafted goods, tradition, and working with people and agricultural products.
The desire to deepen their collaboration became a reality in March 2022:
MXPSM (Michelberger X Preussische Spirituosen Manufaktur) is now writing a new chapter in the long history of this unique place.
